Anyone know where I can get a litre of pure acetone? Having another clean of the Mondeos DPF, figured acetone would be good at breaking down the carbon deposits and will simply evaporate afterwards.

I usually buy stuff like that off ebay- I get through a lot of IPA and it’s cheaper than buying it from our media suppliers.

That’s a good price was hoping to get it today, but looks like it’ll be easier to just order it.

I don’t know anywhere, where you’d be able to get it today. EBay or such will have it but will take about a week. AutoSmart may have some if you have a franchise near you or pop through to Carlisle there is a store on the Kingstown Industrial Estate.

If you don’t mind paying a little extra to get it today, try proper builders’ merchants.
Do you have a Builder Depot near you?

Try a roofing company or general builders merchant. My old work (Selco) used to sell it to clean off tools as part of the GRP roof system we used to sell. Not sure on the purity but was good enough for cleaning.

Hardware store is the actual name!!
Also yeah, nature keeps getting taught that lesson too, but never learns from it. When when the forests stop growing to prevent forest fire!?

That's actually not a bad idea, id have to research if it'd have an effect on the internals and is easy to clean out though.
